Miller and Long Concrete Construction

Client-Miller and LongAlthough there has been a significant construction boom in Washington, DC, the African American community had only enjoyed limited participation, due primarily to a lack of exposure and experience to the construction trades. From 2001 to 2006, Walls Communications was retained by Miller and Long Construction to encourage a greater participation on the part of minorities in the construction industry.

The Walls Communications team created a coalition of civic groups, faith-based organizations and the local construction trade industry to educate the community and promote the opportunities that exist in construction. The result has been the creation of a construction academy in a local high school and tremendous support on the part of local elected officials.
